I have so many fond memories of Thanksgiving but my most memorable was when I was 19 years old. I worked at the Housing Authority of Glasgow and they were doing the meals on wheels program. I asked my sister if she would help me deliver meals and really thought nothing about what that day would involve. That Thanksgiving will be forever remembered as the day I truly realized how blessed I was. We spent hours with wonderful people whom had no one to spend Thanksgiving with. We were asked over and over to come in and eat with them. They would tell the reasons their families couldn't make it and each story broke my heart. Every single person that day was so appreciative and made us feel so welcome in their homes. I felt so good yet so sad all at the same time. Once we were finished Ashley and I got in the car and on the drive to Mammaw Judy's to eat that same Thanksgiving meal with the same people we ate with every year we just cried and felt a renewed appreciation for our wonderful family and life.
I haven't ever gotten the chance to do that again but would love to if given the chance. I just told Kerry that I would love for the boys to be able to experience what I was truly blessed to be able to do that Thanksgiving day. Just wanted to share.
I feel unworthy that the Lord provided me with all the blessings in my life. I have an amazing family and most of all a Mom and Dad that took me to Church and showed me the right way. A Dad who I have always looked up to and am so very proud of. A Mom who has always been there for me and is one amazing Grandma to the boys. The Lord has blessed me with an amazing husband that I knew as soon as I met him he was my soul mate. He is the best daddy to the boys and a really supportive husband who has the most loving heart. I am thankful for my wild crazy sweet boys who make life so much more fun than I ever could have imagined. They make my life so meaningful. A sister who I have shared some of the best times in my life with and who can make me laugh like no other. A brother who I now call my good friend. I am thankful that I am the aunt to sweetie pie Jackson who melts my heart. I am so thankful the Lord led me to Beaver Dam where I have gotten to know a group of people I now call my dearest friends. For two wonderful people who asked if we would be interested in some land not knowing that at the time we had met our future neighbors who would end up being our closest friends. I am thankful for all my close friends I have known for years and for close friends that has only been in my life for a short time. Both mean so much! My grandparents because they have always shown me unconditional love. Aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws gosh I could go on and on and on. Sorry to ramble like this just want to let everyone know that my life would not be the same without each and every person. And to my blogger friends I have enjoyed getting to see your sweet families so much. Thanks for letting me be a part of it! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Hope your family has a great Thanksgiving! You are all such sweet, good people and I am truly thankful to have gotten to know you!!
Wow. That was a good one. You are so sweet and I'm so glad we've gotten the chance to know each other better. We all need each other so much and I'm so glad to call you a friend! Have a great Thanksgiving!
Such a sweet post! Thank God for the "Meals on Wheels" program. I do not know what some of my clients at the Adult Day Care would do without it. I have had some of the same experiences throughout my career and it makes you feel so blessed, but on the other hand so sad for those that are less fortunate. Two years ago I took Thanksgiving dinner to one of my clients who had no family and you would have thought I had given him a million dollars. He was so thankful! Later that year he died, and right before he died he thanked me again for doing that for him. Every Thanksgiving I think of him and how that one Thanksgiving something so small that I did made such a big difference to him.
We really don't realize just how fortunate and blessed we are so much of the time. Hope you all have a terrific Thanksgiving!!!!
(Oh,and by the way, Isaac seen the picture on your blog a few days ago of Ethan in his Buzz Lightyear costume and he has tried to convince me several times to get in the car right that very minute so he can come to Ethan's house and see him in it....and bring all his cosumes! lol)
Do you realize I cry over out dated milk at this point of my pregnancy so this sort of sent me over the top!?
We love you all and are so glad to call you friends! I now love Eli with all of my heart and will always hold a special place in my heart for him! We're so glad your here!
Alicia - Lesley Spainhoward is my sister-in-law and I found your blog through hers last night. I want you to know that your post inspired me to visit my grandmother in the nursing home today. I hadn't seen her in a few months - I had gotten good at excuses: too busy, the kids are too rowdy for me to go alone, etc. When I read your post, I realized that she sits alone on most days and that for me to drive up is a small thing that I can do more often. We had a great visit and I'm so glad that we went. Happy Thanksgiving!
You are so sweet! I am so glad we will be neighbors, and our kids will grow up together. You all are just another reason I feel so blessed!
That is a beautiful blog, Alicia! You are such a kind-hearted and beautiful person on the inside and out. I am so glad that you are such a special friend to Emily, and I am glad that I have had a chance to get to know you through her.
